Viddyoze Live Action Review

Viddyoze Live Action ReviewAn innovative new piece of software called ‘Viddyoze Live Action’ has just been released.

And it does something very, very clever.

Before I continue, I should point out that Viddyoze Live Action is effectively a new version of the Viddyoze software that was originally released in 2015.

It does everything that Viddyoze does, but with impressive new functionality.

(I will cover the situation if you already have Viddyoze later.)

With that said…

I’m sure you have seen video intros and outros where a business’s logo appears on screen in some form of animated sequence.

There is plenty of software around that can create these animations and – in my opinion – Viddyoze is one of the best.

If you are not sure what I mean, here are some examples…

Those are pretty impressive, but Viddyoze Live Action takes things a stage further.

In simple terms, it allows you to seamlessly blend animation and live video footage together.

This is best explained using an example…

Viddyoze Live Action ExampleTake a video clip of rippling water in a swimming pool, seen from above.

Now take your business logo.

Viddyoze Live Action can effectively ‘paint’ your logo onto the bottom of the pool.

Your logo will be adjusted to appear as if it was shot through several feet of water.

And it will ‘ripple’ in total co-ordination with the movement of the water on the surface.

It will even appear to pass under a woman swimming across the shot.

To any viewer of the finished video, it will appear as if your logo was physically on the bottom of the pool when the footage was originally shot.

Here is what I mean, along with a few other examples of what the software can produce…

Now, that was very simple to say.

However, if you have any idea about video production, you will know how technically difficult this effect is to achieve.

And yet Viddyoze Live Action achieves it in a few seconds with a handful of clicks of the mouse.

And I have to say that the results are very, very impressive.

I have looked long and hard to find the ‘join’ in the finished videos without success.

Animating your logo is an obvious application, but it’s far from the only one.

You can use the software to ‘animate’ any image or graphic – including photos – not just logos.

So it is perfect for creating branding ‘stings’, highly engaging intros and outros, scene transitions and calls to action for your video projects…

Anywhere you want to add the ‘Wow’ factor and engage your viewers.

I have been around the block a few times and have never seen video software do anything even close to what Viddyoze Live Action can achieve.

So I have no reason to doubt the authors when they say that this functionality is unique to them.

Yes, I’m sure you have seen software that allows you to add static elements to live action videos, such as adding your logo onto a static computer screen while a woman types and smiles.

However, these inevitably look contrived because everything moves except the element you have added, which remains fixed in place.

In contrast, Viddyoze Live Action completely integrates your graphic into the scene, so it literally becomes part of the action.

There is no doubt that this software is going to increase the impact and engagement of your videos, as well as the credibility of your business.

Viddyoze Live Action CommercialBut Viddyoze Live Action isn’t restricted to personal use.

During the launch period, the basic product is available for $57.

However, for $67 – a modest additional $10 – you can pick up the commercial license, allowing you to use the software on behalf of paying clients.

There is huge potential here to use the software to start a business or add a new revenue source to an existing business.

If you are as impressed as I am with what Viddyoze Live Action produces, you can be sure that potential business clients are going to be too.

And that means you will be able to charge premium prices that they will be happy to pay.

All you have to do is get a copy of their business logo and then let the software do the job for you in a matter of minutes.

Your clients, of course, will assume that it is far more complicated than it is.

If you go to any of the popular outsourcing sites, you will find people charging $50 to $100 or even more for animated logo stings.

And these are without the live action element that this new software brings.

You will be offering to provide something that people simply can’t get elsewhere.

Just a few examples…

You could put a clothes business’s logo on a T-shirt worn by a moving model, a coffee shop’s logo on a coffee cup being placed on a table, a restaurant’s logo on a napkin on a table, a spa’s logo on the bottom of a swimming pool and so on.

When businesses see the quality and uniqueness of what you can produce – and the price you can do it for – I am confident that the service will pretty much sell itself.

Even if you don’t want to use Viddyoze Live Action commercially, there is a very good reason why you may want to upgrade to the commercial license.

The personal version is restricted to 30 video renders a month, whereas the commercial version gives you unlimited renders.

Viddyoze Live Action TemplateLet’s look at actually using the software…

The first thing to say is that it is cloud-based, so you will need an internet connection to use it.

This also means that rendering time will depend to some extent on how many other people are using the software at the same time.

The plus side is that you can use the software on pretty much any mobile device, including a smart phone.

It comes with an impressive 100 video templates you can use, across a wide range of different ‘niches’, as well as more generic ones that will be applicable to any niche.

Examples of where you can place your logo or other graphic include…

  • On a mug being placed on a table
  • On a T-shirt worn by a moving model
  • Revealed on a canvas as the camera pans around the painter
  • As a piece of art on the wall of an exhibition
  • Revealed as a man paints a wall
  • On a napkin as the camera pans across a restaurant table
  • Spayed onto a wall by graffiti artists
  • As a tattoo on the arm of a man lifting weights
  • And many more

There is a handy search function to help you find suitable templates.

Using the software is genuinely very simple…

(1) Choose your video template

(2) Upload your logo or other graphic element

(3) Optionally add a title and subtitle to the video

(3) Render the video

The longest part of the process is the rendering which, in my experience, can take anywhere from around a minute to three or four minutes.

This is probably longer than you are used to, but is understandable given the amount of work that must be going on behind the scenes.

The graphic you use can be in either JPG or PNG format with a suggested size of 2,048 pixels or more on one side for optimum results.

(You can use lower resolutions, but the final result will not be as smooth as it could be.)

The maximum file size is 2MB, which should be ample in most cases.

Depending on the clip you use, there may be options for customising other aspects of the video, such as the colour of the wall your graphic will appear on.

You can also decide whether or not you want the video to be rendered with the included backing music.

You may, for example, want to add your own music or include the finished clip in a video that has its own audio track.

Your finished video can be in either MP4 or WEBM (‘open source’ video optimised for the internet) format.

And that’s all there is to it.

As I said, it is very simple to use.

Before I talk about upsells, a quick word for existing users of Viddyoze…

Your software will be upgraded to the Live Action version, so it will now be capable of producing these live action videos.

However, you will need to buy the new version, in the same way as a new user (there is no discount), in order to ‘unlock’ the 100 live action templates and actually make use of the new functionality.

When you buy, the new templates will be added to a new ‘Live Action’ section of your existing templates library.

Viddyoze Live Action UpsellsOK, so what about the upsells?

There are two…

The first in the inevitable ‘Viddyoze Template Club’ at $37 per month.

This provides you with an immediate additional 20 live action templates (bringing the total to 120) and then 20 new video templates each month that you can use with the software.

As a big plus, you will also be granted immediate access to the ‘back catalogue’ of more than 400 Viddyoze templates designed for the original Viddyoze (so not live action templates), which you will also be able to use with the software.

Note that there is only one Viddyoze Template Club.

Hence, if you already have Viddyoze and you are a member of the Template Club, you should not re-join because you will receive the live action templates as part of your existing membership.

Also note that the 20 new templates each month will be a selection of both live action templates and non-live action animated templates.

(This also means that existing members of the Template Club will get live action templates as part of their subscription without investing in Viddyoze Live Action. However, they will not get the 100 templates that come with the upgrade.)

If you only want to use the software personally, you will probably only be interested in the Template Club if you create lots of videos and want to use a huge range of effects.

However, this is definitely one to consider very seriously if you intend to offer this as a service to paying clients.

Clearly, the more templates you have, the more options you can provide potential clients and, all things being equal, the more business you will do.

You would only need to sell one extra project a month to make this a worthwhile investment.

There is no minimum period for the Template Club and you can cancel at any time.

However, because this is a cloud based software, you will lose access to all of the Template Club templates when you cancel.

The second upsell is the ‘Viddyoze Master Class’ at a one-time $97.

This is a 30+ module training course that covers all aspects of video creation, both live action and using software such as Viddyoze.

It addresses topics including…

  • Script writing
  • Lighting
  • Equipment (budget and higher-end)
  • Set creation
  • Camera settings
  • Script delivery
  • Editing (using free and paid software)
  • Audio recording and editing
  • Post production editing

The emphasis is heavily on shooting live action video, although the editing process can apply to any video format.

Whether this will interest you depends on your existing expertise and the types of videos you want to create.

The training is independent of – and is certainly not required to use – the software.

Viddyoze Live Action ApprovedI am very impressed with this software.

It does something genuinely innovative (rare these days) that will add impact, engagement and credibility to video production.

And it does it simply and elegantly and at a very reasonable price.

You can get full details and see Viddyoze Live Action in, well, action here…
