Today, I’m taking a look at a new piece of video software called ‘Interactr’.
As its name suggests, this allows you to make your videos ‘interactive’.
The simplest way to explain this is to show you a short video using this type of technology.
(This video is not itself interactive but shows you how the interactivity works)
As you saw, the idea is that you can add questions with multiple choice answers to your video and what happens next depends on which of the answers is selected.
This has obvious benefits for marketing products and services.
For example, let’s say you are marketing to the weight loss niche.
After a short introduction, you ask whether the viewer is male or female.
You could then ask further questions about their age, how much weight they want to lose, how quickly they want to lose it, whether they are prepared to exercise or not, and so on.
In each case, the video continues by responding to the viewer’s answers.
Finally, you direct them to an affiliate offer that is best-suited to the profile they have supplied.
Or suppose you are running an ecommerce business.
You could have a sequence in your videos for identifying the perfect gift through a series of questions.
Or, if you are promoting internet marketing products, you can qualify people by their experience and income level.
Beginners could be offered a low-ticket introductory course and more advanced people a consultation.
Or how about creating ‘video quizzes’?
Quizzes are great for engaging an audience, particularly on social media.
A video quiz takes this concept and adds a new and exciting twist.
Or how about this?
A lot of people prefer to read rather than watch.
So you could add a question early on that offers two options: ‘Continue watching’ and ‘I prefer to read, take me to the written version’.
The second option has a link to a text based sales letter.
Or how about dealing with potential objections to your offer?
You could have options for ‘Sign me up now’ and ‘Tell me more’.
The second option could even have further options to address specific concerns such as price, the guarantee, how the product will be delivered, and so on.
This is powerful stuff.
First, it enables you to closely match or tailor your offer to your viewers, which will inevitably increase conversion rates.
Second, you are engaging with your audience and that will inevitably result in a higher proportion of your videos being watched.
A lot of big brands are starting to use this technology and seeing huge improvements in the effectiveness of their marketing.
However, the expense of creating interactive videos has kept this out of the reach of most marketers.
