eCover Authority Review

(For the avoidance of doubt, that product is not for sale!)

I created this image in less than 5 minutes using a new piece of software called ‘eCover Authority’.

If you are doing any form of marketing online, I’m sure you have come across numerous occasions when you needed to create 3D ecovers to illustrate digital products.

Whether you are giving a free gift away to get people to join your email list, creating bonuses to persuade people to buy through your affiliate link, re-packaging products you have purchased PLR or white label rights to, providing your subscribers with valuable free information or creating and selling your very own products, giving your audience a way to visualise what you are offering will significantly increase your conversions.

However, creating high-quality 3D ecover designs has always been pretty expensive, time-consuming or both.

I know because I have to create lots of them.

Sometimes, I use Adobe Photoshop.

But this is very expensive to buy and takes a very long time to master.

When I am feeling lazy, or just don’t have the time, I will hire someone on Fiverr.com to create the design for me.

However, the options you get for your $5 are pretty limited and the price starts ramping up when, say, you want to illustrate a product consisting of multiple components, such as in the one I mocked-up.

You also have to pay more if you want to avoid waiting 3 or 4 days for the job to be done.

And, even when you get your finished design, you have to pay and wait all over again for any minor tweak you want to make.

Now eCover Authority offers a third route and it’s one I will be using from now on for almost all of my ecover designs.

For a low one-time fee, you can (genuinely) create professional-looking designs in a matter of minutes.

Here’s a quick demo of me creating a couple of ecovers and a package shot (apologies for the sound quality – my normal microphone decided to take the day off)…

You just pick one of the 100+ templates, choose a background, add text and other graphics and hit the ‘Create’ button to download the finished ecover.

The template library includes pretty much everything you could need, including reports, DVDs, CDs, videos, computer monitors, tablets, smart phones, software boxes, magazines, membership cards and more.

You can store all of your finished designs in the software so you can quickly reuse them or ‘tweak’ them for a new design.

The software also allows you to easily combine multiple ecovers to create ‘package’ shots e.g. including reports, software and video elements.

And there is a large library of common graphics you will want to use, such as stickers, labels, guarantees, etc.

(You can also upload your own backgrounds and graphics.)

A nice ‘bonus’ is that eCover Authority also has a built-in banner creator. You can use this to create ads for your blog, banner networks, Facebook advertising or anywhere else you need an image ad.

Are there any negatives?

Well, the software is not incredibly intuitive and it does take some time to get into the swing of using it.

However, full video training is provided and everything is straightforward, once you have completed a couple of designs.

It would also be nice to have a slicker preview facility. At the moment, it can take up to 20 seconds or so to see how your finished ecover will look.

But those are fairly small gripes for software that does what it says on the tin at a very affordable price.

There are three upsells but you definitely don’t need any of the to use the software…

Upsell 1: A developer license if you want to create covers for other people, plus 100 extra templates.

There is a very real business opportunity here in using eCover Authority to create ecovers for other people on sites such as Fiverr or the Warrior Forum.

The large number of templates and the ability to create package shots, plus the speed with which you can churn ecovers out, would give you an edge over the competition.

Upsell 2: Graphics training. This is mainly useful if you want to sell your services as a graphic designer.

Upsell 3: More templates and graphics to use with the software. The standard package comes with just about every template you are likely to need, but this would again be useful if you want to create a business out of this.

The bottom line is that this is a great piece of software that solves a very real problem for internet marketers and it does so at a more than reasonable price.

If you currently produce ecovers or think you may in the future, eCover Authority will be a time and cost saving tool you will want in your toolbox.
